AHK, World Water Day & MT. B'LAKAYO!

Ours is an Official World Water Day Event

As the World celebrate the World Waters Day 2011, the Aim High Kabataan already conducted a Tree-Planting Activity two days before at the Mt. B’lakayo located at Barangay Olympog of General Santos City.

Almost a hundred Aim High Kabataan volunteers came up last March 20, 2011 for the activity who hiked the slippery and treacherous trail of the Planting Site with 200 seedlings at hand. Tired yet eager to finally plant the seedlings, carrying the hope that they would soon become trees and become mediums to give the City of General Santos sufficient clean water in the years to come.

we COLLECT

It was one memorable activity most especially to the Aim High Kabataan Members who volunteered. Setting aside the weekend usually spent watching movies, malling or going out with friends, to soak with sweat and splashed with mud on the way and back.  The activity also served as a learning experience for the volunteers and opened their eyes of the wonders of nature that they should continue caring.

we HIKE

As what some of the AHK said, ‘all the muscle pain are worth it’. Mt. B'lakayo is such a breathtaking discovery.  The sight takes away the exhaustion felt by the hikers/volunteers plus the fresh air is so refreshing. General Santos City is gifted with natural wonders that should be responsibly taken good care of.

The Aim High Kabataan would like to thank the Barangay Council of Olympog headed by Punong Barangay Gulle, its Sangguniang Kabataan and its Tanods for the assistance rendered to Aim High Kabataan. Since gratitude to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Youth Affairs and Development Office and the City Mayor’s Office as well.

Most of all, to the volunteers who got their hands dirty! May you kind duplicate! PADAYON!

we PLANT

For the seedlings we’ve planted and left at Mt. B’lakayo, may they become strong and sturdy trees in years to come.  Or if you feel like hiking, you can go and visit them from time to time.

Cheers to Clean water!
Cheers to a responsible citizens! Cheers to Mother Nature!
